Fifteen new event types have been added to our global activity feed.
Citizens and concerned parties,
Our global activity feed now contains 20 event types. We’ve removed redundant events that can now be inferred from our more comprehensive set, streamlining the data for all users. The City of Pumpopolis continues to grow as the cryptocurrency space evolves.
Going forward, the Data Feed will be your canonical source for in-game activity metrics. With external trackers like DappRadar announcing closures (and re-opening?), it is vital to provide an accurate, easily parsable feed. Many sites referencing Pumpopoly currently rely on out-of-date or incorrect information.
Although Pumpopoly has always been 100% on-chain, not all information can be gleaned solely from reviewing transaction logs. Worse yet, some self-styled blockchain analysis portals fail to maintain up-to-date NEAR blockchain data. The Data Feed provides direct views of on-chain, in-game entities logged with precise timestamps.
A myopic focus on DEX activity might make sense for memecoins or other speculative fluff, but understanding Pumpopoly market conditions requires an examination of the game state. We launched Pumpopoly at 0.01 tokens per land. Today, the floor price is approx. 24.14 tokens per land. Even if you had bought land at or near NEAR’s all-time high of around $20, you would still be up today. Few, if any, projects can make such claims.
Narrowly focusing on tokens or DEX activity misses the larger picture: Virtual real estate is a dividend-producing game asset. Pumpopoly landlords have earned rental income continuously since March 18th, 2022. While appreciating land prices speak to the foresight of the game’s model, it isn't the full picture. Landlords use their rental income to buy even more land in-game. No memecoin can offer you these returns. For these reasons, tools and techniques designed for memecoins are fundamentally unable to describe the Pumpopoly economy.
Of course, players will always be able to monitor in-game performance directly from the Game Dashboard. The Data Feed is an option for crawlers, bots, and content creators. Going forward, there will be no excuse for inept summaries—from AI or otherwise.
Looking forward to building more features,
Mayor of Pumpopolis
